A bohemian, festival-chic wedding…

Michelle & Shane, both avid festival-goers wanted a laid-back, fun bohemian style for their wedding that reflected their personalities.

Michelle, having grown up on a farm envisioned a relaxed, rustic, country feel for her Big Day and wanted that to be reflected in the design. It being a late September wedding I wanted to incorporate some early Autumn touches as a nod to the season. Wheat hand-picked by Michelle’s brother was used throughout the decor and styling. A vintage milk churn from the farm sitting atop a vintage fruit crate with stunning wild florals greeted guests as they entered the Church under the beautiful draped garland of ivy.

The beautiful country Church at Newtown, Co Carlow was decorated with lots of trailing ivy and pillar candles dotted along the altar and Pat from Carlow Florist created the stunning florals that offset the entire look of the wedding. A cream metal garden seat draped with a floral garland was used in place of separate chairs for the Bride and Groom. At the bottom of the aisle an ivy-covered arch created a magical setting as guests found their seats. Michelle’s lovely Dad trawled through a neighbouring woods to gather all the ivy for his little girl’s Big Day and happily helped create the arch the night before the wedding along with Michelle’s sister and friends – so sweet!

If there ever was a Bride born to wear a flower crown it’s Michelle, a true boho girl! She looked absolutely stunning in this amazing crown created by Pat.

The beautiful restaurant at Langtons House Hotel in Kilkenny was the setting for the reception and each table was named after all the festivals this fun-loving couple have been to. Tablescapes were made up of garlands of ivy, peach and cream florals, wheat, pine cones and lots and lots of candles in mismatched gold candlesticks.

Michelle’s beloved Granny’s stuffed pheasant was incorporated into the feature table at the entrance to the restaurant and allowed her to be there in spirit and remembered fondly on the day.
